1979年10月26日，动摇国本的总统遇刺事件发生。事发前半小时，随行秘书官朴泰柱（李善均饰）接到中央情报部部长下达命令，要求一旦发生任何事情，就必须制服警卫员。然而他放任悲剧发生的行径，究竟是“内乱的共谋”？还是“长官命令下必须服从”？两造争论，成为法庭上的审判焦点。另一方面，只求胜诉不计正义的生计型律师郑仁厚（曹政奭饰），也介入这场韩国近代史上最糟糕的政治审判，竭尽全力为朴泰柱的清白孤军奋战。在这短短十六天的审判期间，两人还将面对主导这场不公正审判的联合团团长全偿斗（刘在明饰），最终的审判结果将会是如何呢？。Tom Riley thought he was getting the deal of a lifetime when he bought a house below market value at a Sheriff's sale.
