The story about a couple who do not want to have children of their own, and a pregnant, single woman who needs a home for a while, the relationship between the three protagonists is strange, at the very least.。1961年，孤儿院出身的刘志鹏（刘德华 饰）在伦敦的法律学院以优异成绩毕业，携女友安妮（蓝洁瑛 饰）返回香港，并在女友父亲的安排下进入律师行工作。刘志鹏接手的第一件案子是一宗妓女杀人案，因为死者乃望族背景，众律师不便为嫌疑人辩护，刘志鹏挺身而出，与嫌疑人刘惠兰（叶德娴 饰）面谈后，实知死者是一名变态性癖患者，刘惠兰当夜因惊恐错手杀人。刘志鹏为案件多方奔走，收集证据，连安妮也被他冷落，两人关系出现裂痕。而刘惠兰因刘志鹏的怀表发现他是自己寄养在孤儿院的亲生儿子，原来当年刘惠兰不肯令儿子在自己的阴影下成长，化身“无名氏叔叔”在孤儿院外伴儿子长大，如今母子相见却不能相认，未知审判之后是否阴阳两隔……。Gail is human.
