工藤の長編3作目「遠いところ」は、沖縄の若年層の実態を描いた物語。沖縄の子供の困窮した状況、DV、シングルマザーの様子を追ったルポルタージュに工藤が自身の生い立ちを重ね合わせたことから企画が生まれ、独自に取材を重ね全編沖縄で撮影した。。Dragos Binder is doing research in order to write a fiction film based on the true event of his parents fleeing the country in the 80s communist Romania, but then he changes the subject, moving the camera lens on himself.。
